THE CHURCH OF SAINT JOSEPH

SAFE ENVIRONMENT

The Office for Healing and Prevention for the Diocese of Worcester requires that any person over the age of fourteen, who will work or volunteer in any capacity within the Diocese of Worcester, with the exception of Confirmation candidates who will be doing volunteer work as part of their Confirmation program, must:

(1) Complete a CORI Request Form and attach a government issued photo I.D. (Driver’s License) to the completed Form.
(2) Identify the specific position to be held in the parish
(3) Be certain the Parish Safe Environment Coordinator, Elizabeth Johnson, views the Government issued I.D. and signs the CORI Form and then sends this request to the Diocesan Office of Healing and Prevention.

Having completed the above, each applicant is required to attend Safe Environment Training, which is a two-hour training session held at the Mary D. Stone Elementary School on Church Street in Auburn.

The next two training sessions are scheduled for Thursday evening April 17 from 7 p.m. to 9 p. m. and Thursday evening June 19 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.

These training sessions are to insure that all applicants fully understand the Code of Conduct required by those who work or volunteer in any capacity within the Diocese of Worcester.
