As a result of the serious decline in the ordination of priests and the attrition of priests in the diocese as a result of retirement and death, those priests remaining are spending more and more of their time on administrative issues and less time doing that for which they were ordained.

In October of 2007, in consultation with the Finance Committee, a decision was made to create the position of Business Manager for St. Joseph Parish, to handle all aspects of parish business that do not involve the spiritual.

Mr. Donald Lagacy, a long time active member of the parish and the retired President & CEO of Carderie Vervietoise, USA Inc., was asked to assume this position.

The business manager has an office in the Pastoral Center and is available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to handle the business-related matters of the parish.

Mr. Lagacy has also been named Director of Finance and Director of Stewardship.
